The Northern Maritime University was presented at the annual educational conference of the Danish Marine Engineer’s Association "A Jour". Over 1,000 persons visited the conference and the technical symposium.
The Danish Engineer's Association is a professional/technical association for Engineers and Dual Purpose Ship Officers, who are either educated or present students at Maritime Educational Institutions.

TRI MARITIME FORUM: “Private Equity Investment in Shipping and Ports”

Potential impacts of developments in financing maritime infrastructure will be discussed and the potential conflict in utilising private equity finance between shipping and ports as profit generators and the role of shipping services and ports in the wider socioeconomic context will be critically reviewed. The TRI Maritime Forum will review these new phenomena in financing maritime infrastructure and shall highlight challenges for governments and institutions dealing with private sector interests in strategic infrastructure assets.

"2. Bremer Schifffahrtskongress"

On November 28 and 29, the NMU partner University of Applied Sciences Bremen invites to the “2. Bremer Schifffahrtskongress”.
After the great success of the launch event, the University of Applied Sciences Bremen is organising for the second time the “Bremer Schifffahrtskongress”. This year the organisers focus on "Nautical and technical Education and Training: Status - New Concepts - Perspectives". The University wants to offer a forum for discussion and exchange to all German training locations. The congress will also serve as platform for dialogue with the shipping industry, policies and nautical associations. Important partners such as the Association of German ship owners, the Bremerhaven universities and the city of Wismar are integrated in the programme committee.

Interreg IV B North Sea Program - German Meeting, Husum

The Exhibition of Interreg IV B North Sea Projects gave the German NMU partners the occasion of an informative event. This annual meeting was organized by the National Contact Point Germany and took place in Husum, Germany on September 30, 2008.
