1st NMU seminar in Molde, Norway

NMU seminar on Port Development, Liner Shipping Strategy and European Short Sea Shipping Initiatives

As one of the very first activities within the Northern Maritime University (NMU) framework, a one-day seminar on various aspects of liner shipping and port development was recently held at Molde University College, Norway. Excellent presentations were given by Professor Alf Baird and Research Fellow Gordon Wilmsmeier from Napier University, raising issues that triggered many questions and discussions from the participants.

The main target group for the seminar was MSc Logistics students at Molde University College, but people from the maritime cluster in North-Western Norway were also invited. The participants therefore represented different backgrounds and also a very wide geographical scope, with people from Norway, Scotland, China, Tanzania, Ghana, Denmark, Greece, Pakistan and Lithuania.
