He points out how chains of container transport span the globe and explains the structures of container liner. The book shows that, apart from liquid cargo, there are hardly any goods nowadays that are not shipped between the ports of the world on board container vessels. In addition to the important duties of the ship’s crew, readers get to know the workflows at container terminals and seaport hinterland logistics as well as key aspects of shipbuilding, environmental protection and safety in container shipping.
